how do i pick up a badminton birdie with my racquet?
are there any online videos?
Since I know a LOT about badminton because I play it, use the top left or right, push down, push in, bring up, catch it or hit it.
Where can I buy a decent badminton or volleyball set in the GTA?
Does anyone know where I can buy a decent badminton (net, poles, rackets and birdies) or volleyball (net, poles and ball) set anywhere in the GTA? I've found a few places online, but they do not have showrooms and it would take 1 - 2 weeks to have it delivered - I am looking for something that I can pick up before next weekend.
I also want a half-decent set - not the cheap one from crappy tire. It is only for recreational use, but I want it to last.
I am in Durham, but willing to go just about anywhere in the GTA.
Thanks in advance.
When you said GTA I thought you meant Grand theft auto the video game! XD
I am not sure, I think my aunt would know, I'll ask her and edit this.
How many feathers does an official olympic "birdie" in badminton have?
A feather shuttlecock should have 16 feathers fixed in the base, each between 62-70 mm long. The feathers should circle with diameter between 58-68 mm and the base should be rounded, 25-28 mm in diameter. One shuttlecock should normally weigh between 4.74-5.5 grams. This measurement also applies to nylon shuttlecocks.
How do different badminton raquets affect hitting the birdie(distance) and could u give me some examples?
It's all about weight displacement and material on badminton rackets. Badminton rackets come in all sorts of weight, material, and stiffness. If you think about physics, Force = Mass*Acceleration. Then to get the most distance, you'd probably want to get a more head heavy racket. There are downsides to this such as expending more energy compared to head light rackets. However, with head light rackets you would need to produce a faster swing acceleration in order to produce the same effect.
Now in terms of stiffness, if you use a stiff racket then the racket will bounce back to its original form when you hit much quicker than a more flexible racket. Many have said that this is for more of the wristy players when they hit. If you use a flexible racket, the point in time from which you hit the bird and force to flex the racket to the racket going back to its original shape is much longer. Many players say this is for those who don't use a lot of wrist.
How to hit far and make a smash shot in badminton?
I really like a badminton I'm really sucked at hitting. When I hit the birdie, it's really soft and doesn't go that far. So I cannot smash and when the birdie goes way back far, I tries to hit as hard as I can and it doesn't even reach to the net.
Can anyone show me how I can hit farther and harder in badminton?
Oh, and am I supposed to focus on the arm of the wrist when hitting?
To hit the shuttlecock harder and further, you need to make sure you hit it with the middle of the badminton racquet. This gives the shuttle more power to fly further.
It is better to concentrate on your arm and try not to move or twist your wrist while following through with your shot.
Also, practice is key when it comes to hitting the shuttlecock correctly. The more you practice, the better you will be at it :)
