Badminton set??

I want to start playing badminton, what is the best brand of stuff i should buy, like a starter "kit"

Where can I buy a decent badminton or volleyball set in the GTA?

Does anyone know where I can buy a decent badminton (net, poles, rackets and birdies) or volleyball (net, poles and ball) set anywhere in the GTA? I've found a few places online, but they do not have showrooms and it would take 1 - 2 weeks to have it delivered - I am looking for something that I can pick up before next weekend.

I also want a half-decent set - not the cheap one from crappy tire. It is only for recreational use, but I want it to last.

I am in Durham, but willing to go just about anywhere in the GTA.

Thanks in advance.

When you said GTA I thought you meant Grand theft auto the video game! XD
I am not sure, I think my aunt would know, I'll ask her and edit this.

Do they sell a set at Wal-Mart with the croquet, horseshoes and badminton set? How much is it?

yes on sale now for i think 20 bucks

Looking for a Badminton Net and Poll set that will work on concrete?

I'm assuming the concrete is outside (outdoors). The easiest and more permanent solution is to have an oversized hole and a pole that sits in it. The pole can be taken out and the the hole capped when not in use.

Now assuming that you cant go around drilling holes in the concrete! - the same stand that is used indoors on wooden courts will work outdoors too - except that its not very portable!

If you are looking for a portable and light or temporary solution, perhaps you can find a place to tie the end of the cord past the stands - either on rings buried into the concrete or on walls - then you use wooden supports to simply prop up the chord at the correct height. The wooden supports can be a T-shaped piece with a notch on the top for the chord to pass through.

Any badminton net will work indoors or outdoors.

Some links are below.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know the rules to badminton?

We recently purchased a badminton set, and have been using it a lot lately, but we don't exactly know the rules. So, What are the rules to badminton?

There are a lot of rules in badminton, but, of course, part of it depends on how stringent you want to be - competitive badminton is more strict than most people realize. Also, rules are different if you're playing singles or doubles. Here are some basic rules: http://www.badminton.org/badminton-rules.html

Additionally, here are some sites that have more thorough rules and diagrams of the court:

Good luck - badminton's a great game. I hope you enjoy it!
