How can you throw a ball as hard as you can and have it come back to you, even if it doesn't hit anything, there is nothing attached to it, and no one else catches or throws it?
The most logically correct answer is "throw the ball vertically upwards".Even if there is any external resistance the ball will fall towards you because the resisting force will always act in opposite direction to the motion of the ball. The ball will only be retarded. Its direction will not change.
Magnus effect is not applicable here because the force thus generated will not be sufficient to rotate it along a circle or any path. It will only make the particle deviate from its orignal path.

What is the best ball and spare ball to buy for a cranker style bowler?
OK well my boyfriend wants a new bowling ball for his birthday. He is a cranker style bowler with a huge curve. I dont really know much about what bowling balls are good, so I was wondering if anyone knew what would be the best two balls to buy (like a strike and spare ball) I heard the fury balls are good does anyone know? Thanks for your help!

What type of golf ball responds best on the green?
Although hard to believe, I compete in Professional MIni Golf tournaments around the country and was wondering what type of ball would perform best on the green (min golf course lol). I seem to like balls with a lower compression (Maxfli Noodle, Volvik Crystal) yet after reading up on the design of golf balls, I am not sure that this is the right decision. What type of balls (compression, three piece two piece etc.) would help increase my performance.
hi. good question. but i think it would be wrong for people to recommend a specific type of a golf ball for you. the matter of fact is, in order to putt at your best, you need to depend on two things. feel and sound. maxfli noodle will feel smoother and a sound thats well... soft? and if you try any of the top flight golf balls, then you will find that it feels hard at impact and the noise it makes is a little louder. the bottomline is, EVERY golf balls feel and sound different. and the conclusion is that EVERY people have their preferences. phil mickelson said he changed his ball from titleist to callaway because he changed his putter. his putter was not very responsive to the contact so he wanted a ball that would make a louder noise at contact. so changing to a callaway ball was part of many other reasons because it slightly felt a little more "firm" so my recommendation is, try all sorts of different balls. take them to the putting green and see which ones feel and sound better. you are the only one that can determine which ball is best for you. pick the one based on feel and sound. good luck. :]
What kind of soccer ball is good for freestyling?
I know a guy who has this addidas ball, that's a little smaller in size then regular and is also much heavier, and the ball is very good for freestyling. What is this ball called and where can I get it (in Canada)?
Any links or information on what kind of soccer ball this may be would be appreciated.
joga bonito balls r good but usually size 4 footballs are used for freestylin.size 4 balls can be found in any sports shops.
What weight ball do you recommend for a beginner bowler?
My son is 10 years old and he likes bowling.He plays with the lightest ball he can find (usually 8lbs) He has hard time controlling it. Do you recommend a lighter ball until he is comfortable throwing or it is better to start with a heavier ball?

You should go ask for 6 pound bowling ball because the employees keep them in the back.
If you're son likes bowling i think he should join a league, ask the youth director...I remember starting a league, I fell in love w/ bowling and now I can't believe I average over 200 in league.
