How would I buy a bowling center?
I've been in the bowling business for about 7 years now and I think I'd like to buy a center myself. What would be the best way of going about it. Also, if I wanted to buy the center off my boss what would be the best way of presenting that to him? Thanks!
The first thing you need to do is come up with a comprehensive business plan. This will include income projections, market analysis, through-traffic projections, alternative income centers, etc. Analyze everything down to the last tater tot in the fryer and last quarter in the crane machine. Come up with a marketing strategy. Do you want to cater to the hard drinking, hard smoking bowler, or do you want to have a "family friendly" joint and drive those people away? Your dream, your formulation. Factor in costs for improvement to draw new customers that wouldn't have previously come to the center. You need to have estimates from contractors on necessary work and intimate detail of the center you wish to buy.
Take all this junk to several banks. Secure financing. Start making offers.
Dude, this is how everything is done, not just in the bowling business.
If all that fails, just marry the owner.
How old do you have to be to work in a BOWLING Center?

YES they sell alcohal.
Depends on state laws and if they sell alcohol which most bowling centers do. Might call and speak with the manager about his hiring requirements.

When did the Madison Square Garden Bowling Center close? What is in its place now?
Yes, this refers to the Bowling Center which was below the current MSG (the one that opened in '67) Really just lookibg to find out when it finally closed (last time I was there was about 1990) and what is there today.
You have the Madison Square Garden Bowling Center and the Madison Square Garden Bowl.
The center was open Mon. Oct. 30 1967 but I don't know when it closed, why it happened and what was built in its place.
The Bowl was opened in 1932 just 35 years before the Bowling Center and was torn down after World War II to make way for U.S. Steel and Ronzoni Macaroni Company factories.
I tried emailing MSG for a bit of info but the one provided for feedback was invalid.
Sorry I couldn't provide more.
