Columbia????
I do not have the SAT II's, can i get into columbia with a 2100 on sat and 4.0 gpa, or is it best just not to apply cuz i dont have them-- im applying for early decision, wat about nyu
To even be considered for admission to Columbia you need to have taken two SAT Subject tests(or two SAT II's, they are the same thing). Test scores aren't everything. Everyone has the same test scores and especially the same GPA. Its the extracirriculars that set you over the top. If you are worried about getting in, DONT apply early decision. You have a likelier chance of standing out in regular decision. My advice: take the 2 SAT Subject tests in October or November and apply for regular decision. You'll have more time and have a greater chance of getting in. Oh, and apply online.
What do you think of Columbia Business School? How does its reputation compare to others in the top ten?
I was recently admitted into Columbia's graduate school of business for my MBA. I also applied to a few other schools in the top ten, and have a good feeling about my chances of getting in. I would like your impression of Columbia Business School. Do you think it enjoys a reputation that is truly top-notch? How would you compare Columbia to, say, Harvard or Wharton's MBA program?
Congratulations! I suspect Columbia is more than enough to impress anyone on here, and should open plenty of doors for you in whatever your chosen field happens to be; plus, you'll have your pick of internships in New York. No, I don't think it has quite the reputation of Wharton or Harvard, but if you have the luxury of being able to pick at that level of selectivity, go with the school that's the best fit for you.
What is the public transportation system like in Columbia, South Carolina?
I'll soon be relocating to Columbia, South Carolina. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my '94 Mazda will make the trip with me. As a new car and a new policy is a bit out of reach, I'm curious if the local public transports will suffice. Any local or anyone with information regarding Columbia in general or the public transports, please share the knowledge.
We live in Columbia. We do have public buses, however, there are usually not seats or an area to wait. It is a problem the city is working on.. but we do have plenty of public buses. Sometimes there is just a sign in a grassy area on the side of a busy street. If you need any more info about Columbia, just email me at spendergast5@yahoo.com
Good luck with the move! We love it here, but it is really hot this time of year.
Hope this helps.
Is Columbia University considered a prestigious school internationally?
I know that its highly regarded in the United States but is it known around the world? Does it carry as much weight as Harvard or Yale? If one were to take their Columbia degree around the world, would it be recognized?
Its definitely not as well-known as Harvard and Yale but it is well known in countries like Japan, England/Great Britain, Brazil.
Columbia is a great school and is one of the best universities in the world. the fact that its ivy league will help people around the world realize how prestigious it is.
Best of luck
What is the difference between Columbia College and University?
I know that Columbia College exists on the university campus...but what is the difference? Is it considered to be a sort of junior college? Do they both offer the same degrees? Is the only difference that Columbia College requires full-time enrollment?
Not to be confused with Columbia College in Chicago, which is completely unrelated to Columbia University, this Columbia College is the basic undergraduate school of the university (Engineering is separate, and there is a different undergraduate program for nontraditional students called the School of General Studies, but everyone else goes through Columbia College). Other schools following the same model are Harvard University, with its Harvard College, and Georgetown University, with Georgetown College.
