Golf??????
My friend keeps making fun of me playing golf because he say's its an old man sport. How do i get him to learn how hard it is to play it he thinks its very easy to play. He even told me he thinks its stupid they get paid by just hitting a ball. He also wont play golf so he has no idea.
We actually have a GOLF TERM for guys like your "friend"...."PUTZ"!
He's just plain ignorant! Meaning, he doesn't know ANYTHING about golf....just the old out-dated stereotypes.
"Paid for hitting a ball?"....how is that different from soccer or baseball?
and....he probably couldn't even do THAT!
Not really worth the trouble to try to convince him, as he seems to be an idiot, anyway. So, I suggest you don't bother discussing golf when he's around.
If he really starts to annoy you, get in his face and tell him that golfers, at least, EARN their money...unlike NFL or NBA players that get paid just for being on the team!
What Golf Country Club in the Bellevue Washington Area is affordable for a family?
We are a family of (4) considering relocating to the Bellevue, Kirkland, are of Washington. We love to golf and belong to an affordable golf club in the twin cities. Is there something affordable out in the Seattle area that would offer housing close by, or possibly on the golf course?
No. If you are looking for "affordable" then, stay in the twin cities.
This is the equivalent of asking if you can find a affordable house on Lake of the Isles...
Bellevue and Kirkland are the heart of the posh east side Seattle suburbs. Look to pay anywhere from 700K up to be close to a golf course. Microsoft & it's millionaires have driven up prices in the area.
You might find affordable and golf course way out in the far northwest suburbs (Monroe, Snohomish) or the southwest suburbs (Black Diamond, Covington) - Then you are stuck with multi hour commutes each way to Seattle.
I have looked and there is no way to specify on the local real estate websites 'golf course' so, if you want to pursue it, contact a Realtor at one of the two big agencies below: John L Scott or Windermere
Good Luck
What type of golf ball responds best on the green?
Although hard to believe, I compete in Professional MIni Golf tournaments around the country and was wondering what type of ball would perform best on the green (min golf course lol). I seem to like balls with a lower compression (Maxfli Noodle, Volvik Crystal) yet after reading up on the design of golf balls, I am not sure that this is the right decision. What type of balls (compression, three piece two piece etc.) would help increase my performance.
hi. good question. but i think it would be wrong for people to recommend a specific type of a golf ball for you. the matter of fact is, in order to putt at your best, you need to depend on two things. feel and sound. maxfli noodle will feel smoother and a sound thats well... soft? and if you try any of the top flight golf balls, then you will find that it feels hard at impact and the noise it makes is a little louder. the bottomline is, EVERY golf balls feel and sound different. and the conclusion is that EVERY people have their preferences. phil mickelson said he changed his ball from titleist to callaway because he changed his putter. his putter was not very responsive to the contact so he wanted a ball that would make a louder noise at contact. so changing to a callaway ball was part of many other reasons because it slightly felt a little more "firm" so my recommendation is, try all sorts of different balls. take them to the putting green and see which ones feel and sound better. you are the only one that can determine which ball is best for you. pick the one based on feel and sound. good luck. :]
What is a good golf game to play if you are sponsering a hole at a golf tournament?
Our company is sponsoring a golf tournament. We are going to be sponsoring some of the holes on the tee boxs handing out prizes. We need a game that we can play for the prizes. We have one game where the players try to hit a tennis ball into a bucket and if they get it in, they get a prize, but we need some more ideas for our other holes. Please Help with some ideas that you guys have done at golf tournaments, or just ones that you have heard of.
Let's not forget about the all important and highly regarded closest in 2 shots. (On a par 4 or par 5.) Most alcohol consumed?
What are good golf clubs and how much should I expect them to cost?
Hi, my husband loves to golf, but needs new clubs. I don't know anything about golf, but I would like to surprise him for our anniversary with a new set. What are some good brands, and how much can I expect to spend?
Don't even consider choosing his clubs for him. Clubs are so individual and high end clubs do require proper fitting by a professional. Callaway, Ping and Taylor made are amongst the best but Mizuno, Hogan and Adams amongst other are good as well.
Go to the nearest discount golf store in your area and get a $1,500. gift certificate. You could get away with less or pay even more it is all about your budget. If you want a complete set of top end clubs, expect to pay $1,000 for a good set of Irons, $up to 1,000 for a good set of 3 woods (metals), $200 each for any Hybrids, $200 for a putter and $500 for a set of wedges. A matching manufactures bag would run around $250.
You decide how much he will decide what. That will work.
