know of a rock climbing harness for a heavier person?

My husband loves to rock clmib but has put on some extra weight over the last couple years. He is actually quite muscular but has put on some fat over it! Anyway, he would really love to start rock climbing again but we cannot find a harness that will fit him. Do you know of any larger harness that would fit a person with 33 in legs and a 40 in. waist? Thanks.
I was wrong on the waist size. He has a 42 in waist, not a 40.

The Black Diamond product sheet shows that(http://www.bdel.com/pdf/s07_rock_export.pdf) the "speed" versions of their harnesses (Momentum, Focus, etc) size L - XXL fits 30-42” (76-107 cm) waist and 21-27” (53-69 cm) legs - that may fit.

I have a Focus Speed and it has a huge range of adjustment and is much more comfortable than a wrap / diaper style harness because it has seperate leg loops and won''t squeeze you when you hang in it. This is the best kind of harness for gym or sport climbing.

Rock Climbing Harness with Auto Belay, where to hook on?

I have a fresh new Momentum Speed Black Diamond harness and I'm still confused, if I were to tie in my rope, I would tie in on the tie in hoops, but what if I were to Auto Belay? Where do I hook on the swivel carabiner?

Can I use my rock climbing harness in a tree stand?

I used to be into rock climbing and have a Black Diamond harness. The attachment point is at a persons belt buckle I'm going on a hunting trip in a couple of weeks where I MIGHT be in a friends tree stand. I don't want to drop $100 on a tree stand harness that I might not use.

My harness does not have an upper body support, and understand that I am at risk of inverting if I fall (it is the same with rock climbing).

Is there any other risks that I might not be aware of that would be specific to tree stands?

You Harness will probable hold you off the ground but you have to ask yourself how will you recover if you are dangling there and will it protect your head from a collision. I would carry a couple of foldable screw in tree steps in case you fall so you can provide yourself a way to relieve the pressure. If you decide to buy a new harness I would recommend the Hunters Safety System. It is super easy to use ands looks like it would do the job, Thank God I have never falllen out but I know it can happen.

what is the history of the rock climbing harness?

That is a very interesting question. I am not 100% sure, but I know some of the primitive harnesses were made out of webbing. They were not store bought. They still use these in rescues, and such. That is the best I can give ya. Good Luck!

Where can I buy (on-line) a A5 Chest Harness for big wall rock climbing.?

I had a A5 Chest Harness for big wall rock climbing and loved it. It had gear loops and was awesome. Where can I buy another one.

I lost mine and miss it.

I tired the links below, but the top one was a climber profile, no a person selling anything, and the lower one was a harness but isn't for rock climbing and has no gear loops etc. Looks like it is a military thing or for paintball. won't work. sorry mike
