Golf Shoes News

Golf shoes?

Hey golfers, I'm looking for some golf shoes. I'm going on the golf course next weekend and was wonder what kind of golf shoes you guys would recommend for the "pros". I want to get the best there is, yet a reasonable price though.

Footjoy DryJoys Pro or the GF II are great shoes.

How can you tell if certain shoes are golf shoes?

I bought these shoes the other day and on the recipt it said that they were golf shoes. How do you tell?

What did you think you were buying?

Do golf shoes really make that much of a differnece?

I just got some golf shoes (my first pair ever) and when I am using them on the course, they don't seem to be making a diffence from my normal running shoes that I'd previously been using.

I was watching the Golf Channel one time and some old pro who always used metal spikes was forced to use soft spikes at some tournament. He said that he was literally slipping and sliding during his swing.

I'm not sure, do they?
I know that's what they're supposed to do, but I don't feel any difference between shoes.

If the ground is dry it might not make much difference.

When it is wet is when you will noticed the difference.

I wear Foot Joy brand Dry Joys or E Comfort shoes with Black Widow soft spikes in them.

Stinks, they do. Can someone help with cleaning golf shoes?

My 15 year old has some all leather Foot Joy golf shoes that he has worn for about a year. He is starting to grow out of them, but has a few good months before that day comes. Does anyone know of a good way to clean them? Can I throw them in the wash, since they are going to be gone in a few months anyway (too used to donate, I promise, although I'll try)? He's growing like a weed but can get a good few rounds in before he needs the next pair. The smell is just killing us... any suggestions? The shoe spray is beyond our help at this point. Yes, I know, new shoes. But he golfs every other day and every weekend, rain or shine. We were planning on buying him new ones for a gift when/if he makes the high school team, so trying to wait (we will buy him new ones when he can no longer use these, but thought it would be a nice thing as a gift if he does). You probably didn't need the story behind why I need these clean shoes. Sorry. Thanks so much for any help!

my wife actually puts fabric softner sheets in my shoes and boots, and it helps alot

How often should I replace the spikes of my golf shoes?

I was looking at my golf shoes the other night and noticed that a lot of the spikes towards the toes of my shoes were broken off. I have the Softspikes Pulsar Fast twist spikes currently in my shoes. If the front spikes break, should I replace all the spikes or just rotate the ones from the back to the front and continue that process? How often are new spikes recommended?

If you are competing professionally and winning money, then by all means follow the 10-15 rounds rule. But if you are a casual player (or even serious hobbyist) then change them when you need to not by rounds played. As for what's on there now, just rotate them out and play on replacing the full set when the 'new' toe spikes get worn/broken.
