What is the difference between a gymnastic leotard and a dance leotard?
I have recently enrolled my 4 year old into gymnastic classes and need to buy her some leotards, however I'm a little confused as to what the difference is in dance and gymnastic leotards. I really don't want her showing up to her first class in the wrong thing :-)
I do gymnastics and dance, and the difference between a dance leotard and a gymnastics leotard is that a gymnastics leotard is bigger around the crotch area..
What exactly do gymnastic athletes do to get in that much shape?
I've seen these people do insane things with their bodies that i know professionals athletes cannot do,
I know they all work hard and put all there heart into it, but their must be something gymnsatics people do that is different
what is one of the major type of training that gets them in that type of shape,
One arm pull ups and everythin, their crazy, any gymnastic people here with their routines

Uhh.....I HATE the bars so much! I can't do anything on them! I went to gymnastics yesterday and my coach told me thatI have to push the bars down so the bar is below my waist (like on my leg). And then as I lean forward, you need to kind of move your hands so that you can finish in a front support. Umm...yeah it is kind of hard to explain so check out the link:
What to expect in the first gymnastic class?
I'm beginning tonight at a local gymnastic place, and the teachers work individually with the 'students'. I'm just wondering if you could give me any hint of what they might be doing tonight- physical wise.
first you will all stretch and warm up of course and then you will probably be introduced to the different areas of the sport and asked about prior experience and what your favorite specialty is. Have fun, I loved gymnastics but was too afraid to join the team because it was all girls and I figured I would get stomped regularly by the football team because of it. I should have gone for it. I have regretted not doing it ever since.
Why are the olympic uniforms in swimsuits, trunks and gymnastic gear so revealing?
I know that some of the swimsuits are high for mobililty in the water and also includes the gymnastic uniforms, but why do they have to be that way? You can literally see a person's butt almost hanging out of their uniforms. That's not a good sight for people that have weak minds like child predators if you know what I mean.
Well it's not like any of the swimmers or gymnasts are hideously ugly or morbidly obese covered in cellulite so I don't find it that bad.
The swimmers and gymnasts' uniforms are designed to be lightweight so they can move freely without heavy clothing weighing you down (imaging swinging up on the high bar with a baggy shirt flapping all over the place or trying to win a gold medal in swimming whilst being slowed down by a saggy pair of board shorts.)
Also it's not that revealing, the men gymnasts generally all wear leotards with striupp pants or leggings (which is a shame) and the swimmers don't even have their chests exposed (expect for maybe after the race when they pull the swimsuit/wetsuit down).
The gymnast's leotards aren't that horrible either, it would just be so much harder to compete if everyone was trying to be modest.
