Dance wear or do i have to wear a unitard?
I am starting gymnastics and i don't want to wear a unitard.They ride up your but and i wear dance shorts and shirt??
if you are young 13 and under wear a leotard if not wear a long under shirt that is tight and tight shorts.
so, i start gymnastics on monday. and I'm a little confused...?
i read in a different question, that unitards aren't good for gymnastics, why is that? i need to buy a leotard for my gymnastics class, but i have no idea what to look for in one [material, price, cut, (anything im forgetting), etc.]. could you please help me? oh, and information/advice on anything gymnastics is welcome too, thanks a bunch!
The best leotard depends on your gym. Some require gymnasts to wear only a leotard (so a unitard would not be acceptable). The important things are a good, tight but comfortable fit. You don't want anything loose in the gym as it can get wrapped around the bar or the spotters may have trouble spotting.
You probably want to go with a sleeveless leotard as you will probably get hot working out no matter the season. As for material that is personal preference. A plain lycra one would be cooler but a lot of people really like the look of velvet. Just make sure whatever material you choose feels fine on.
