Hockey Shin Guards News

Is there a difference between soccer and field hockey shin guards?
I'm starting field hockey soon and had to buy a pair, but the ones I bought seem to say that they are good for soccer? They are Adidas and have a hard shell on the outside. I'm wondering if I can use these and if not what do real field hockey shin guards look like? Or rather which ones should I buy?
Hey,yeah there is a huge difference. My field hockey shin guards have the hard shell in the front and the small covering in the back to cover your legs.In soccer, the shin guards usually just cover the front. But if you can try to get field hockey shin guards cause trust me with the ball and everything it will hurt with soccer shin guards,i have learned from expirence.you should be able to tell the difference cause field hockey shin guards are way thicker.
if you go here you can see what they look like, and they arent that expensive either :)

Can I wash my field hockey shin guards so I can inhale when I open my bag or should I just spray them?
I have been playing field hockey for the past three weeks and I sweat a lot. This causes all my equipment, especially my shin guards to smell. My shinguard has a very thin pad and I think it is removable. What should I do?
Even if the shin pad is not removable, throw them in the wash. The hot soap and water will help kill the bacteria in there.
I wash almost all my hockey gear, and no problems.
How do you wear your hockey shin guards?
hey guys...i just bought a new pair of hockey shin guards...i normally wear them inside of my toung, but when i put them on today they like couldnt fit under there so i tried putting it outside of the tounge( the way most NHL players wear them)...i was just wondering what is your presference on how to wear your shin guards
ok sorry i kinda babbled a lot there
I used to wear mine on the inside, but then my coach told me that it's better to wear them on the outside, bc you can get better knee bend, without putting so much pressure on your ankles. So, I tried it, and I really like it, and have been gearing up that way ever since.
Are field hockey shin guards the same as the ones you wear for soccer?
My daughter needs shin guards to play high school field hockey. Are they the same ones used for soccer? Or are they more specific to field hockey?
There are one specifically for field hockey but the hard soccer ones will do just fine.
Can you use hockey shin guards for roller blading?
I was thinking they would wear out way too quickly because they are created for use on ice and not asphalt. Thanks in advance!
yes, you can use the same for both but the trick is to stay on your skates and not fall down.
