Hockey?????

I love hockey.
I play with boys and girls.
No girl or boy plays hockey at my school.
DOES ANY GIRL PLAY HOCKEY HERE!!??

yes

How long would a hockey player take to adjust to speed skating?

So just how long would it take for a hockey player(amateur or proffesional players) to adjust to speed skating(short track or long track)? And vice versa.(speed skating to hockey)

*Both hockey players and speed skaters use the same muscles for powerskating.

*Speed skates have more blade on ice for efficiency while hockey skates tend to have shorter blades for maneuver.

I'd hypothesize that it would depend on how much they skate. Just the blade size transition would be hard since the length of blade on a speed skate is much longer than a hockey skate. The blades are much more thin too. Also speed skates are more like a track shoe, whereas hockey skates provide much more ankle support. I'd assume less constriction for the ankle allows more range of motion, making pushing easier. Only from my experience with different figure blades, I think it would just be a matter of adjusting to the skates, which sometimes does not take long. Experience with each sport will most likely help each other.

How do you skate backwards on hockey ice skates?

I don't play hockey or take lessons. I have a pair of hockey skates and I know how to skate backwards but how do you do it fast? I see hockey players skate backwards soooooo fast. When some people(mostly hockey players) skate they start like they are jumping side to side it's hard to explain. HOw do you do that also? Any other tips?

This has everything you need, how to do stuff for hockey. http://www.monkeysee.com/video/subcategory/12?subcategory=163

I am going to play hockey for my first time should I start with floor hockey?

I am going to play hockey for my first time should I start with floor hockey first?I am a goalie so is that what I should I do because I can't skate.I am a boy so I am using my friends account.

Yeah, I'd say to start with floor hockey and then keep practising and develop your skills. You'll probably love floor hockey alot because its so exciting and fun to play.

Hope you love the game.

How could I start my own hockey team at my highschool?

I go to a school in NC and I was intrested in starting a hockey club/team. I was wondering if anyone has any advice/experience. Im sure I could round up at least 6 - 10 people. In normal hockey you need 6 people on the feild at once.

This would be roller hockey of course and I was wondering if there were any tournaments we could enter?

Any advice.
Thanks really helpful right there. I know I can because you can start any club you want at my school. I just need some info.

I started an adult beginner ice hockey team, so I can assume the process is about the same. I put out flyers, posted on local message boards and talked to everyone I knew. once I got enough people interested, I started talking to local rinks and leagues. For Ice you need 20 people (includes 2 goalies) for a team.

you can do it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
