i want to no why the england football an cricket teams both have the 3 lions as a badge and the rugby team has a rose?
I'm sure someone will come up with the historical reason...but remember that the England team in all sports is not, officially, reperesenting the nation of England.
Strictly speaking, they are actually representing the English governing body in each of those sports. So in football the England team represent the FA, in cricket the England team used to represent the MCC and now the ECB, and in rugby union they represent the RFU. So they traditionally wear the body's own symbol, rather than any specific symbol of England. It just so happens that the symbols of the FA and the ECB are fairly similar, and the RFU's is different.
why do some australian rugby league teams wear their anniversary badges the yr b4 the actual anniversary?
e.g.
sydney roosters 100th annversary badge in 2007 when founded in 1908
manly sea eagles 60th anniversary badge in 06 but founded in 1947
newcastle knights 20th anniversary in 2007 when founded in 1988

I really don't know, pretty stupid when you think about it.
I doubt there would be to many many people lining up for a Newcastle badge, sad if they did.
