Ipod Nano News

Ipod Nano?

Oky, so i am about to sell my mp3 player and get a ipod instead. But i can't decide whether to buy the ipod nano 2nd generation or the ipod nano 3rd generation. i've heard that the 3rd generation is wide and feels awkward in the hand. But then again i've heard the price of the ipod nano 2nd is more expensive than the 3rd generation. Which one should i get? I have about 1300 songs and im not planning on stopping there. I dont care for videos, im just using it for music. I like the big screen on the 3rd generation but i like the way the 2nd one feels in the hand.

I just bought a 3rd gen nano to replace my older nano and greatly prefer the new one over the old. The 3rd generation nano is even smaller than it looks in the ads. I would try going to stores and trying out each one if you are worried it will feel too awkward. The new nano has a larger, brighter, and sharper screen. The new cover flow feature is also a plus. So I would recommend that you get the 3rd generation, but in the end its all up to what you like the most.

Can you connect ipod nano screen to an ipod video with a broken screen?

The screen on my ipod video broke, and I have an ipod nano with no funcionality but the screen does work. So I want to know if i can connect the ipod nano screen to the 30 gig ipod.

Does anyone know if this is possible before I disasemble my video?

I don't think that you can, plus, the nano's screen is smaller, so you would end up with exposed electronics, and the new screen would be very unstable, if it even worked at all.

What's the difference between the ipod video nano and the ipod nano chromatic?

i just traded my old video nano for the new ipod chromatic.
what exactly does the ipod chrom. do (that's different from the video nano)?

They both play video.

The new (chromatic) nano comes in 8 and 16gb models, instead of 4 and 8.

And they have introduced new colours, and a few new features, such as the shake-to-shuffle and the accelerometer for coverflow.

And it is thinner than any other iPod before it.

How do you get songs from your ipod nano to the library?

I have songs on my ipod that was on my old computer. The computer broke down and I have the ipod in my new computer. How do you get songs from your ipod to display to your library? ( I have an ipod nano that I brought in 2006)

Transferring iTunes Music (make sure that your iTunes is set to "manually manage music")

Method #1:
Download iDump or any other similar software from download.com (for free).

(The following steps are tailored for Windows XP. It will work for Vista as well but the steps may be slightly different. Also, this method does not require third party software or an internet connection. This method will transfer ALL songs from iPod to computer. Use Method #1 to transfer specific songs.)

Method #2:
>Connect iPod to computer.
>”Start.”
>”My Computer.”
>Double Click iPod icon.
>”Tools.”
>”Folder Options.”
>”View.”
>Select “Show Hidden Files & Folders” and click “OK.”
>Right click “iPod Control” folder.
>Select “Properties.”
>Unselect “Hidden” and click “OK.”
>A window will pop up. Select “Apply changes to this folder, subfolder and files” and click “OK.”
>Double click “iPod Control" folder.
>Double click “Music" folder.
>You will notice folders labeled “F00, F01, F02, F03, F04, etc.”
>Open up iTunes side by side with this window. Make sure that the “Music Library” is displayed and make sure that iPod/iTunes is set to "manually manage music."
>In iTunes select “Edit>Preferences>Advanced>and make sure that ‘Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized’ and ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library’ are checked and click ‘OK.’” You should also make sure that your iPod/iTunes is set to “Manually Manage Songs” so that you have control over what you want to add or delete (to do this select the iPod icon under “Devices” on the left column of the screen and select “Manually Manage Music” under “Options.”).
>Drag all of the yellow folders (not the Read Me files) directly into iTunes “Music Library.” I’m talking about the part that has song name, artist, track number, etc.
>Done.

What materials are the ipod nano made of? Is the material different than the ipod video?

What materials are the ipod nano made of (like plastic, metal, etc.)? Is the material different than the ipod video?

The current line of iPod nanos?

I believe they are made of the same thing the iPod videos are made from - the anodized aluminum.

The back is made of a shiny aluminum.
