How to pich a slowpitch softball?
I'm looking for some techniques on pitching in a slowpitch softball league. Any tips?
It will be underhand pitching with 6ft ~ 12ft range. I'm looking for ways to make it hard for batters to make solid contact.
If its unlimited, obvisouly throw it as high as you can. If its 6-12 ft, find a good height that you can constantly hit while throw strikes, thats tougher as a pitchers, its like putting it on a tee for the hitter. Technique wise, i pitch with a backspin on my pitch. Hold it with all 5 fingers, have your hand face the batter, the ball toeards second, flick your wrist dfor the backspin, thats one way to do it. You could also hold it in your palm, ball facing the batter, and throw it that way, with that you can spin the ball for a bit of a curve. Those are some ways i do it. Good Luck!!
Best slowpitch softball bat to use in cold conditions / Fall leauge?
I am in the market for a new slowpitch softball bat for my fall leauge this year. What are the best bats on the market currently. I now swing a Mizuno Frenzy but it's not supposed to be used in weather under 60 degrees. Usually the Fall leauge can get to be quite cold, so what bat would be best? I play in a NSA leauge also. What have you been successful with?
Most of the aluminum bats can't be used in the cold. Try using a wooden bat.
What is a good (cheap) slowpitch softball bat?
Hey everyone. I play on an men's adult Park District slowpitch softball league that uses NSA rules. I am looking for a nice powerful bat for my team to use. We only play 15 games a year, and I would use it once in a while at a batting cage, so I am not looking for anything expensive. Being a college student also does not help with having extra money around to go on a shopping spree. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
heck I have a good DeMarini that I'm not using anymore since I'm only playing 16" ball these days (chicago style slow-pitch). I'd sell it cheap if you are interested.
In order to hit the ball far into the outfield, is a heavy or light bat suitable in mens slowpitch softball?
I know in hardball, the speed of the swing is important. But in mens slowpitch softball, is it the speed of the swing, or the heaviness of the bat, or something else? I mostly hit singles into the short outfield, but would like to go farther. Thank you very much for your response.
If you are hitting singles into the short outfield now... then you probably arent gonna have the bat speed necessary to hit deep balls. The balls you are hitting now are probably going to become routine fly balls when you try to go to a bigger bat or try to swing harder. Thats what it sounds like at least. Are you capable of hitting the deep ball?
Best inexpensive slowpitch softball bat?
I am going to be playing in company softball league against other departments. I am trying to find a semi-inexpensive, yet good quality slowpitch softball bat. I am trying to spend under $100. I have heard that Worth has some good lower end bats, like their Powercell model. I am tempted to spend a lot more than I really want to and get a Miken Freak or a DeMarini, but in reality, I am just trying to find something that has good bang for my buck. Any recommendations on a brand and/or model and where it can be purchased would be appreciated. Thank you.
Techzilla bat....27 ounces 32 inches. Break it in with a rubber mallet and sooner than later say hello to the long ball. Another good bat is the Demarini double wall.
