Tennis Ball Hopper News

I have a hopper full of used and flat tennis balls but I really want to practice my serves what should I do?

What I am wondering is first of all if flat tennis balls would affect my serve in any way. And second of all I am wondering if the balls will actually improve my serving with newer tennis balls. By the way most of the ball are from the winter before last winter. If you could help I would strongly appreciate it.

Nah, don't worry about using flat balls for serving. If you were trying to learn a kick serve, then you might want to use newer balls to see how it's really kicking.

But if you're just practicing a regular serve, the only things that matter is if the ball clears the net and if it lands inside the service box.

The serve is the only shot we, as tennis players, originate ourselves. You are not moving and you control the ball before you hit it. So in theory the serve should end up as our strongest shot.

Practice, practice, practice some more, and when you get tired, practice a little more. ;)

after you open a can of tennis balls, does it help to store them in the cans rather than just in a hopper?

i store the average balls in the hopper but the good ones i usually store in the cans. but i want to know if the cans help the balls retain more pressure or it does nothing to them

Hopper, once the can is popped, it lost its pressurize function, no need to keep the cans.
if you play the balls once and feel it is still good for another round, you can keep them in the can just for the convenient purpose.
