Tennis Raquet?

i am planning on being on the tennis team but i need a new raquet and i was wondering on what kind of raquet i should get, something light weight durable and has that extra ummfff..... i like Prince and Wilson Raquets but if anyone has suggestions let me know.

hahaha good luck on getting into the team yah...

and yeah it kinda depends how u define light weight...
but heres my list anyway

wilson k-95 team-the lightest of the K-tour series...light,powerful, and great stick

babolat pure drive team-the lightest of the pure drive series...great racket for smashing the ball back..

babolat aero pro drive cortex/non-cortes--nadals racket...kinda light (for me) plenty of spin and control...very fast head swing movement

head microgel extreme...the lighter version...very wide string bed...gives extra power off the shot...very steady racket

well i hope the list helps ya out...cheers mate and good luck

What tennis raquet for spin and control?

I'm and i play tennis everyday for about an hour or more so i use it often. I play in tournaments also. What kind of raquet would be good for a player like me?

What type of tennis raquet should i get?

I want to get a new high performance tennis raquet. What would you reccomend? I'm 12 years old and at a higher intermediate level.

To be honest I can't recommend a particular racquet but I can give you an idea of what specs you should be looking at.

In terms of weight, since you are 12, I would say a racquet with a weight around 11oz would work nice. At your age now, a heavier racquet around 12oz would be more difficult to handle but if you are up to the task you could give it a shot.

And for headsize, I would recommend one between 98-105 sq in. The smaller racquets again are rather difficult to use but if you are up to the challenge, go for it.

In terms of brand, any brand works. I would go for probably what I call the big 4 of tennis racquets brands. Wilson, Babolat, Head, or Yonex racquets would work nicely.

How much does it cost to get a wilson tennis raquet strung?

I just recently bought a new tennis raquet frame.. but i'd like to know how much it would cost to get it strung at a local sports store. Please fill me in if you've got info. !

Ignore Josh T. He seems to be an expert on gold plating some things. The others are right. It will cost you from 20 to 30 dollars in the USA, anyway, depending on the quality of the strings. Wilson racquets are used by many top players, by the way.

What kind of tennis raquet should I get?

I'm a bigger guy, 6'0 180 lbs and I'm looking for a quality tennis raquet. I'm just on the border between intermediate and advanced, so I'm looking for something that can keep up. What kind of raquet should I try to find?

As a tennis coach I would have to ask you, what your going to play the most singles or doubles, then the next question is your age! But trying to over ride the age, lets go to singles, you want a smaller head, but doubles if your playing more doubles, then definately an oversize racket. Don't be one of these guy's that come into my shop, pick up an un strung racket with a cardboard advertisement in it and hit it on their hand 2 or 3 times and sayd this feels good, uggahhhhhhh, get a demo, and find out what the demo was strung with what type of strings and also what tension it was strung at! Very Important, next thing is the grip size, it is not what feels good but what you need to have, ake a racket, grip it then your forefinger of the other hand should slide in between your 4 fingers and the heel of your palm, if it is a wee bit loose it is ok, but don't let it be tight or your looking at a tennis elbow definately. I played the tour in europe 10 years, have been on wilson's staff and head, right now Head has the best stuff, the othr thing if your big and strong, I would recommend polyester strings, 16 gauge, most of the pro's on tour are using this big banger from belgium, expensive and I played it was on staff but found the german poly better, I relly believ the germans make the best string in the world, doesn't lose tension andlst a long time. One last thing I will tell you make sure to have it strung by a certified stringer who has a good machine and all the tools, otherwise yhou ask for 58 and it can be anywhere from 45 to 75, because they never gauge their machines, lot's to think about in a racket, good luck hope this helps!
