What is the standard size of a volleyball net?
I have a volleyball court (sort of) on my property. The polls seem too far from each other to hold a standard net. What is the length between polls in a standard volleyball court?
No practices take place here, it's just for fun, but I can't seem to find a net that fits properly.
The standard net is 32 to 33 feet long or about 11 meters. The court is 30 feet or 9 meters across, so some net hangs out beyond the sidelines. There is usually about 2 feet of cable outside the net. That makes the usual distance about 36 feet between the poles.
How to build a backyard volleyball net..?
My dad's going to build a volleyball net in our 1 acre backyard. We don't need boundary lines or anything, just poles and a net.
Any tips (I've heard NOT to use plastic or PVC pipe for the poles, as they are flexible and easy to break)?

Get dad to the local hardware store and have him pick up two 1 or 2 inch diameter galvanized pipe. He will need to drill a couple holes (or have the hardware store do this for you/him) so you can string up the net with a couple of "eye hooks". You probably want a couple more holes at the top as well so you can use rope and tent stakes to help keep the poles steady in case you have anyone who is serious about playing in case someone runs into the pole/s for stability. Equally important, if you want to continue to enjoy playing volleyball more than this one time is to buy a quality net and a leather volleyball from any sporting goods store. Make sure the poles are long enough to stick in the ground allowing for correct height. Sometimes, depending on who is going to play, drill extra holes so you can raise and lower the height of the net for different ages or skill levels. Good luck and have fun!
Update...the nice thing about this combination is it can travel with you and is not cemented in! With the cement and 4x4 terated lumber, you are adding more expense.

I saw a sport in thailand where they had a volleyball net and they played volleyball with their feet, does anyone know the rules and name of the sport

The height of the net shall be 2.43 m (7’ 11 5/8”) for men and 2.24 m (7’ 4 1/8”) for women.
The net height is measured from the center of the playing court with a measuring device.
The two ends of the net (over the sidelines) must both be at the same height from the playing surface and must not exceed the official height by more than 2 cm (3/4").
